Ifa (as Literature)

Ifa was published by Lijadu in 1898 and reprinted by him in 1908. The picture on page vii of this book is taken from the 1908 reprint and shows Lijadu in Anglican Clerical habit. The Yoruba of the original text is vintage literature, I have tried in my translation of it into English to acquaint Nigerians of my generation with the richness of their culture albeit through English translation as, unfortunately, many of us have, inadvertently, distanced ourselves from Yorüba language and culture.
